ELEVATING FUNCTION BY DESIGN.

BOGS recently collaborated with Natives Outdoors and Tlingit jeweler Jennifer Younger to release a special-edition model of our Classic II Adjustable Calf boot using her Tlingit formline ovoid design.

Like Younger. BOGS' heritage is steeped in the Pacific Northwest where yearly rainfall creates a different way of life and a unique connection to the elements. While a waterproof boot is a simple piece of gear, it allows people to experience their surrounding in new and interesting ways, as long as they have the curiosity to explore.

Younger's designs do the same thing for jewelry, art, and her heritage. Her distinct perspective and knowledge of the Indigenous culture is reflected in all her work, which can create a new sense of curiosity for all who experience it.

"If I can share it with the world,
it will draw people in to ask more questions and learn more about the art."

Taking inspiration from riverbed pebbles, this unique design connects BOGS boots with the artistic formline heritage while adding a meaningful story to one of our most popular products. BOGS are made to thrive in the Pacific Northwest and this limited-edition boot takes that idea to another level using Younger's beautiful linework and rich colors.

Her work often highlights the traditional ovoid, which is a core feature in the Indigenous art of the Northwest Coast in North America. It’s regularly referred to as “the mother of Tlingit designs” because it’s considered the central element that all other designs flow from.

“Everything just flows, and you see balance.
This is how life should be. You find a balance in everything.”
- Jennifer Younger

As part of this collaboration, BOGS is also supporting the work of Herring Protectors, a grassroots movement led by indigenous women to revitalize the herring population.
